This project by Lee Kwang-Ho combines the large-scale oil painting Untitled 4819 (2023) with a live performance. During the opening reception, a performer, dressed in the same colour as the wall, quietly enters the gallery without any announcement of the live performance. The artist hopes that visitors will notice the performer’s discreet presence—perhaps only subtly perceiving them at first—and be inspired to capture a photograph. If they do, Lee expects them to share it on their social media, thereby extending the experience beyond the gallery space.
The Inter-View project began in 2005 at the MMCA Residency Changdong and continued until 2008. During this period, Lee Kwang-Ho conducted 120 interviews with people from various nationalities, occupations, and age groups. The project consists of portraits of the participants, along with a collection of objects given to the artist as mementoes or requested by the artist.

When Lee Kwang-ho discovered the music of Yun Isang, which had been prohibited from public performance in Korea until 1994 due to Yun’s political stance, he became deeply engaged with it. Inspired by Yun’s work, Lee wanted to create an art project that connected Korea, Berlin, and Shenyang, aiming to transcend ideologies and borders through Yun’s music. To develop this project, Lee traced Yun’s life in Germany, where Yun had been exiled following the initial diplomatic conflict related to the The East Berlin Incident (동백림사건) between South Korea and West Germany in 1967. Despite Lee’s dedication, he was unable to complete the project. However, he did create several paintings related to this initiative, which were included in the Memory Project.
